Read-On Young Readers began at Mason Crest Elementary School in Fairfax County during the 2020-2021 school year. Mason Crest was the first partner school ROYR volunteered with. We continue to work closely with principal, Sherry Shin, on implementation and teachers on student selection, parent permission, and training.

Mount Eagle Elementary School is located in Alexandria, VA on the Route 1 corridor. It has 331 students in Preschool, K-6. Mount Eagle is a Title 1 school.
Mount Eagle is a school that is rich in history, diversity and talent. Mount Eagle believes that students learn best when they are part of a community and feel safe to take risks. We are working with Principal, Jean Consolla, Assistant Principal Kate Kirkland, and the other amazing staff members at Mount Eagle.

Braddock is a diverse school representing 29 countries and 32 languages! There are 670 K-6 students. Braddock believes that diversity is the key to their strength and they are always welcoming new members to our Braddock Family. Braddock is a Title 1 school.
At Braddock ES, Read On Young Readers volunteers go into the classrooms to read with students in small groups. Read On volunteers read with the kindergarten and 1st grade classes at Braddock.
