Our Mission

Read-On Young Readers was founded to mitigate the potential reading & English language loss to students due to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Distance learning opportunities depend upon availability of technology, some provided by Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), and internet accessibility at students’ locations. Many students live in homes and apartments that do not have internet available and/or the technology required to take advantage of on-line learning being provided by FCPS. This situation exacerbates an already uneven playing field for students receiving Title 1 services.
